Moss has no definite origin. It may be a colony of synthesized organisms, evolved into a homogenous system; most moss is silicon-based, and hardy to resource-sparse environments. Some biologists speculate that moss may be hyper-evolved human material, grown in strange societies in the outer field. Others believe moss is a foreign organism, which combined with human waste products.
Moss is passive. However, it can gum up factories where it is not kept in-check.
