Burke5 was an archetype of tube-man, installed in a distant solar-system for colonization. Burke5-5 was a part of that batch, designated for organic-suited survey of the planet’s surface. The planet was eventually discovered after its ownership had ceased, and all instances of Burke5 were taken to Metal Beam.
The synthesized halves of the tube-men’s brain pans would be wiped at the end of every day. Then, standardized memories would be rubbed in to refresh their mindsets. All instances of Burke5 were nearly identical after refresh. Burke5-5’s last refresh was the moment he became a distinct personality.
